Asbestos
Awareness for Building Maintenance
Workers -
2 - 3 hours
Asbestos can be found in many common
construction materials used in buildings
constructed up until the early 80's.
Asbestos Awareness aims to provide
building owners, facility managers and
building maintenance workers with the
knowledge and information needed to
identify suspect building material which
may contain asbestos. The course will
also teach participants about the health
hazards of asbestos, outline the
requirements of an asbestos management
program and how to safe guard workers
who may come into contact with asbestos
containing materials.

Investigating Musculoskeletal Injury (MSI)

A musculoskeletal injury (MSI) is an
injury to muscles, tendons, ligaments,
joints, nerves, blood vessels, or
related soft tissue, including sprains,
strains, and inflammation that may be
caused or aggravated by work. These
injuries have consistently accounted for
the highest number of WCB claims in past
years.
Preventing and Investigating
Musculoskeletal Injury (MSI) is a
WorkSafeBC course developed by the
Workers’ Compensation Board of B.C. It
aims at providing employers and workers
with the knowledge and tools to prevent
MSI and to conduct investigations into
an MSI.
